'Powder Blue Giant' is a large-flowered cultivar that grows to 6-8" tall. Flowers (to almost 3") are pale blue with both fringed yellow crests and deeper blue accents on the falls. Flowers bloom on short stems in April-May. Narrow, sword-shaped, yellowish-green to medium green leaves (to 6” long) arise from a network of branching rhizomes. An excellent plant for early spring bloom in a shaded area of the rock garden, perennial border or woodland garden. Foliage forms a nice ground cover for woodland areas. May also be used as a seasonal ground cover or edger. (Source: Missouri Botanical Garden)
